Informacja ze sttrony Parcel Force: Last updated: 10:27 Thu. 1st Mar. Severe Weather Warning Significant snow has caused major disruption to transport services across much of the UK. There is a Red weather warning for heavy snow showers and drifting of lying snow covering the central belt of Scotland. As a result we have had to close our Edinburgh, Glasgow and Perth depots overnight with no parcels leaving or arriving this morning. Red weather warnings are also in place for Storm Emma which is forecast to cause heavy snow and drifting in strong winds across South West England and South Wales later today. There are Amber weather warnings for frequent and heavy snow showers across much of Scotland, North East and North West England, East Midlands, East Anglia, South East England, Southern England and West Midlands. Where it is safe to do so, our drivers are out delivering and collecting as normal but there is likely to be significant disruption to our services across most of the UK so we have had to suspend sameday ad-hoc collections and suspend our delivery service guarantees nationwide today. Furthermore, the congestion at the channel crossings is still causing delays to all our export services to mainland Europe and guarantees are suspended on Euro Priority and Global Priority services to all mainland Europe plus the Channel Isles and Republic of Ireland today. Update 10am 01-03-2018 An update to the Red weather warning in the South West and South Wales is we are in the process of shutting Newport, Swansea and Exeter depots so there will be no further deliveries or collections today. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. Thursday 1 March 2018 Royal Mail update service: The severe weather conditions affecting the country are continuing to disrupt Royal Mail's services today. Our mails distribution network was disrupted by the wintry conditions last night and this has adversely affected on the movement of mail around the country, and hence the availability of mail for delivery today in many parts. We'll be out delivering and collecting mail today, but only in areas where access is possible and it's safe for our people to perform them. We'll keep these pages updated with as much information about services as possible. We're doing all we can to maintain services at a near-normal level and would like to apologise to customers whose mail deliveries and collections have been affected by the severe weather conditions. Special Delivery Guarantee Suspended We’re sorry that we are currently unable to guarantee next day delivery of Special Delivery items posted from Thursday 1 March 2018. We continue to accept and prioritise the delivery of Special Delivery items at this time and will reinstate the delivery guarantee as soon as we are confident we can meet this service promise for all customers.
